Duane Jones
He was born March 23, 1960 to Robert and Ada Jones. He was raised in Center City and attended Chisago Lakes Area schools. He joined the Army in 1978, spending most of his service time in Garlstedt, Germany. After leaving the Army, he worked at Northern Metals in Osceola, WI and Hansman/Tenere in Stillwater, MN. Duane had a playful spirit and at times was a prankster. He enjoyed watching the Vikings and Minnesota Twins. He also enjoyed family gatherings, and especially the good food that went with those times. When he was able, he would make a daily trip into town for afternoon pie. He enjoyed soaking in the sunshine and listening to his music.
Duane was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his son Dillon (Lana) and daughter Carol (Chase); grandchildren Robert, Elizabeth and Jordan; his brothers Leland (Linda), Gaylon (Linda), Larry (Liz), Lloyd (Jeanette), Gordon (Chris), Brian (Kari), and sister Susan (Cory); and many nieces, nephews; aunts, uncle and cousins. He will be dearly missed.
The family would like to give special thanks to all the staff at Parmly on the Lake. We always knew he was being loved and cared for, and sharing in his humor. And to Fairview Hospice for their care, music, visits, even poker games. We appreciated both for their above-and-beyond attentiveness to Duane and communication with the family.
