Well-known for his sparkling blue eyes, Duke’s smile and easy-going manner earned him many lasting friendships. Always quick with a joke or a laugh, he remembered the people and events of years ago with affection and kindness.
His daughters remember him for his bedtime stories, popcorn and malt suppers, weekly homemade pizza and relentless teasing and tickling. His never-ending patience took him on many cross-country road trips with family.
In retirement, he and Bev enjoyed travelling both nationally and internationally, and always was willing to embark on any new adventure his wife dreamed up.
He is survived by Bev, his wife of 53 years; his daughters Anne and Dan Friederichs and Jeanne and John Hawkinson and his grandchildren Jordan (Justine), Alexandra (Corey), Aidan and Jarrett, and great-grandchildren Stella, Graham and Dorothy; sister Daphne (Jim) Molnar and brother Dwight (Lisa) Rudquist.

Memorials preferred to American Diabetes Association, Alzheimer’s Association, Fairview Lakes Hospice, and Lindstrom’s Trinity Lutheran Church Endowment Fund.
