May 17 a report of a gunshot heard at the Kwik Trip gas and convenience store, North Branch, near Grand Avenue and Hwy. 95, about 5 p.m.  A 17-year-old with a Little Canada, MN address has been arrested for second degree assault.  According to North Branch Police there were a total of three suspects, a 15-year old female was in a vehicle with the 17 year old Little Canada male and a third suspect, male, 17 was on foot.  Chief Dan Meyer said the case in under active investigation and some details need to be kept quiet.   Sheriff’s deputies and Wyoming Police helped to apprehend the suspects that were alleged to have fled in a small truck.  A handgun was recovered, Chief Meyer added.

May 16 sheriff’s patrol got a complaint shortly after midnight of governor’s executive order being violated. The report was checked out, and it was unfounded. Alleged offending business on Rush Lake was not “open”

May 15 Fatality on I-35 in Chisago County, reported about 11:30 p.m. and local law enforcement aided with lights, traffic control. Minnesota State Patrol said the victim was in a 2019 Econoline “bakery truck” heading south, when a car being driven at a high rate of speed, rear-ended the truck, which rolled and the victim was ejected.  Dead at the scene was Lisa Marie Tourell, 49. Braham.  The St. Paul area woman, 52, driving the Cadillac that hit the truck from behind was taken to North Memorial.

The state patrol reports a Rush City resident was one of three passengers in a second fatal crash last week, May 13.  Ashley Behrendt, 22, was taken to North Memorial Hospital with non life threatening injuries.  The Impala she was riding in was hit by an Altima being driven southbound in the north lanes of #169 in Brooklyn Park, about 1:15 a.m.  The Impala driver, 22, was killed.

A 19-year-old male in Lindstrom was arrested after police looked into a call of a domestic assault and property damage at a Lake Lane address, about 10 a.m.

A black bear spotted in the North Meadow neighborhood in Lindstrom.

May 12 a theft of laptop from a vehicle parked on River Street, Taylors Falls.  Also theft from vehicle of CB radio from Stacy address.

A tan male Lab dog was collected as a stray in the Green Lake Trail area.  Call Lakes Area police in Lindstrom and describe the collar, etc. to claim, if still held.
