Gerald Ahmann Gerald Lawrence Ahmann, age 89, of Lindstrom, left this world to be reunited with his ‘Sweetie’ on Sunday, November 8, 2020.
Gerald was born to Benedict and Agnes (Albrecht) Ahmann in St. Paul on October 10, 1931. He grew up in St. Paul where he attended Cretin High School, then the University of Minnesota, graduating with his Mechanical Engineering Degree. He served as a 1st Lieutenant in the Army. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and the Korean Service Medal. He served in the Korean War in 1953 and 1954. Gerald worked for Honeywell, Lockheed Martin and Control Data Corporation. He was instrumental in the development of the touch screen for CTR terminals. Jerry and his wife Lynne enjoyed traveling in their RV, reading, doing crossword puzzles and watching the sunset.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother and his wife. He is survived by his sister Rita Frey; children Teresa Ahmann, Gregory Ahmann, Kenneth Rogers (Nadine) and Daniel Rogers (Valerie); his grandchildren Anthony, Samantha, Geoffrey, Michael, Talia, Sophia, Evan, Jamie and Abby; great grandchildren Hailey, Alex and Sophia.
Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Wednesday, December 2. Interment will follow the service at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
