October 2 damage to a pump at Kwik Trip reported about 1:40 p.m. Videotape used to track down suspect and make contact for restitution on property damages.
Chain was cut for access to a rural hunting property. Miscellaneous theft reported.
Muskrat in park in Lakes Area Police service area behaving as though it was ill. Animal was located and dispatched.
Vehicle hit the Verizon building in Chisago City and police were called. Minor damages. Incident happened about 9:15 a.m.
A scam reported where caller says gift cards needed to pay off warrants that are pending. This is not a legitimate way of doing law enforcement business, do not provide the gift cards.
Sept. 29 a broken arm reported at Primary School. Call came in about 2:50 p.m.
Sheriff K9 unit assists in assault arrests
Second degree assault suspects were booked and are being held after an incident originating in Harris in the early part of October 1. A sheriff investigative unit sergeant said three men went to a Harris area home and threatened two victims with a gun, while trying to get away from the property with narcotics and cash. This happened about 3 a.m. One victim was assaulted. The vehicle at the home had its tires slashed so the suspects could not be followed.
North Branch Police observed the suspect vehicle later being sought in connection with the assault report, at an address in North Branch. Multiple local agencies assisted the sheriff’s office to make the arrest. The K9 unit was called in when two of three 36-year-old male suspects who were eventually arrested, fled the house. The trail was quickly picked up by the K9 dog and deputy handler.
More details will be available once the active investigation wraps up, the sergeant said.
