Ojiketa has two large halls, a chapel and over 15 other cabins and buildings onsite, there isn’t a building that has not been touched by this group. They have painted, screened; replaced doors, siding, windows, stairs, handicap ramps, fixed decks, worked the grounds upgraded landscaping and done countless other tasks that have improved the ongoing use of this park. Special note Jeanne Miller is the coordinator of lunches and has been since the beginning, she has organized and purchased lunches on her own insisting that this work and this group is so important to her she loves being able to provide this for the O.W.L.L.’s. They get organized and begin working in early spring around May and continue working into October every Wednesday! This year alone they have gone through over 50 gallons of paint, “many hands make light work is the quote” but there is nothing light about what this group has done.
If you are interested in joining, please contact Doris Zacho at [email protected] . The group’s next big project may be designing and constructing a new deck to surround Strom Hall.
