This Saturday the Chisago Lakes Beyond the Yellow Ribbon group has a special event and you are invited.  They will be hosting Frank’N Steins at Moberg Park in Chisago City.  The event will feature two bands; Mean Gene and the Woodticks and the Devon Woorley Band.  The beer garden (socially distant) will open at 4pm and will feature beer from the Uncommon Loon. You will also be able to purchase food from Deutschland Meats beginning at 4 p.m. as well.  They will have t-shirts and steins available for purchase.  They do ask that you please bring cash.  See you there!

Speaking of Chisago City, due to this awesome pandemic, the Ojiketa Haunt is also modified this year.  Instead of the traditional walking through the woods to be frightened by ghosts and ghouls, you can now drive your vehicle through the park and get frightened. Look at it this way, you can have your car heater on if it’s cold, and still get the bejeezers scared out of you. The Ojiketa Haunted drive runs October 22, 23, 29 and 30th.

Also on Saturday, Franconia Sculpture Park is hosting their first ever Octoberfest. The event  is a unique opportunity for visitors to sample food and beverages from restaurants and breweries, all within the unique setting of Franconia’s 43-acre outdoor sculpture exhibit. Attendees can visit different stations located throughout the park to taste local beers and sausages (franks), and even purchase handmade ceramics created by renowned St. Croix River Valley artists to drink from (steins).

There will be a wide variety of family-friendly—and dog-friendly—art activities throughout the day. The event is free with a $5 vehicle parking fee and runs from 3pm until 10pm.

The Trinity Church Outerwear Fair is up and going. I am told there are quite a few open spots for families who are in need of winter clothing and are unable to afford it this year.  This is an amazing giveaway here for you.  There’s no judgement, only love and respect. They have a ton of great winter clothes for people of all ages.  So please call them at 651-257-5129 extension 7 to make a reservation.  And if you know of someone who the event could help, by all means let them know about the outerwear fair!

If you are trying to figure out your Halloween plans this year, on Friday, October 23, the businesses in Lindstrom will be holding a mainstreet scavenger hunt.

Due to the circumstances of COVID-19, instead of Trick-or-Treat, a scavenger hunt will take place throughout mainstreet for families to complete. When they finish, they will bring item locations  to the Chamber office where they can receive a bag of treats. Additional activities are still being finalized to help make this a fun time for all.

Are you looking for fall decorations for home or business? Come to Lindstrom Farmer's Market in St Bridget’s parking lot, and see what they have to offer. Pumpkins, squash, gourds...farmers markets run Wednesdays from  3pm-6pm and  Saturday 8am to noon. through October 24.
