It didn’t take much of a potent attack for North Branch to win big as St. Francis made a number of errors that led to Viking points in the 25-14, 25-17, 25-15 victory. In fact, the leading attacker for the Vikings was middle Paige Peaslee, with only five kills. Paige Sheehan, Reagan Irons, and Lindsey Bunes all added four kills, and Lydia Kuhlman had three kills. Even Sheehan, who is typically in the 40s and 50s for assist totals, had only 17 assists for North Branch.
Peaslee did add six big blocks though, and the defensive pressure that her, Sheehan and Irons put on definitely played a part in St. Francis’s sloppy offensive play.
The Vikings had the rest of the week off and now take on Monticello and Big Lake in back-to-back nights. The Monti match up took place on Wednesday, October 21 after getting delayed one day, and the Vikings will travel to Big Lake on Thursday, October 22 at 7 p.m.
