Born in St. Paul, MN on January 7, 1928, LeRoy was the second of three children He graduated from Johnson High School in June, 1945 and attended the University of Minnesota until the end of 1945.
January 1946, he and a buddy enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served until November 1947. While finishing his degree in business administration at Macalester College, LeRoy met the love of his life, Joyce Kahler of Madison, WI. They were married in June of 1952 and honeymooned in the Boundary Waters of Minnesota.
LeRoy worked for Prudential, Fingerhut, and Investors Diversified Services, retiring in 1986. He and Joyce energetically upgraded the long-time Chisago City family acreage by replacing the 1930’s cottage with a split-level home overlooking beautiful Green Lake. This included two large stone fireplaces consisting of boulders from around the property itself. LeRoy also spent many memorable hours fishing with his kids and grandkids on the lake. He and Joyce were active members of Kost Evangelical Free Church (Kost, MN) as well as Lakes Evangelical Free Church (Lindstrom, MN).
LeRoy is predeceased by daughter, Nancy and survived by wife, Joyce; children, Dianne (Kai) Repsholdt, Barbara (Tom) Garter, Bruce (Joni) Larson; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
