Junior Madison Kubalek scored in the first half and the Chisago Lakes Wildcats girls’ soccer team made it stand up as they beat the Cambridge-Isanti Bluejackets 1-0 in the season opener Thursday, August 27 at Chisago Lakes High School. Rayna Barrett picked up the assist on Kubalek’s goal.
Chisago Lakes 1, St. Francis 0
Madison Kubalek again scored the only goal of the game, this time in the second half, as the Wildcats beat the St. Francis Fighting Saints 1-0 at home on Monday, August 31. A Barrett also got the assist on this goal, but this time is was Addyson Barrett. Senior goalkeeper Dylan Grave picked up her second shutout of the season.
Due to the pandemic, Minnesota high school soccer teams will play just 11 regular season games this year and no more than two games per week.
The Wildcat girls will travel up County Road 14 to North Branch High School to take on the North Branch Vikings tonight for a game at 7 p.m.
And next Tuesday, September 8, the Wildcats will go to Monticello High School to play the Magic at 7 p.m.
