He was born in Omaha, Nebraska on October 15, 1945 to parents Glen and Henrietta Gallatin. He graduated from Washington High School and St. Paul Technical College in 1963. Richard was drafted into the Navy from 1965-1967 and then became a carpenter and was a construction supervisor from 1967-2002 also belonging to Carpenter’s Local 322.
Richard enjoyed golfing and traveling in their RV.
He is preceded in death by his parents Glen and Henrietta Gallatin. He is survived by wife Linda; sons Richard Jr. (Sherry) and their children Thomas and Brennan, Scott (Shannon) and their children Andrew and Paul, and Patrick; Siblings James, Kathy (Phipps), Mike, Bill, and John; and many cousins and in-laws.
Mass of Christian Burial was Monday September 28, 2020 at St. Bridget of Sweden Catholic Church in Lindstrom, Minnesota with interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to charity of choice. Arrangements by Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom, Minnesota.
