County K9 unit was called in to assist in arrest of domestic abuse suspect. Incident reported about 2:30 a.m. at Bremer Apartments.
Lakes Area Police did compliance checks for alcohol sales sending in an under-age trained buyer to see if they would be carded for a purchase. Four area businesses failed August 11. The county attorney will review charges against persons who sold alcohol to minor-aged customers at the MGM Liquor Store in Chisago City, Uncommon Loon, the Stone Inn and at the Chisago Lakes Golf Course clubhouse.
There were 15 additional sites in the Lakes Area Police service territory with liquor licenses, that had a trained underage buyer visit and passed the compliance check.
The law enforcement agencies do the same type of checks for tobacco license compliance.
Lakes Area has also documented incidents involving persons believed to be living in self-storage units. The patrol squads have come across people on site of two businesses at very early morning hours.
August 10 a report of thefts of generator and ground compactor from a construction site in Chisago City.
Sheriff’s deputy responded to call of a burglary at Shafer Saloon. Entry was made and video of suspect obtained but nothing is missing. Report came in about 5 a.m.
County personnel retrieved outside decor items left at an address in Stacy that do not belong to the property owner, there are ladybugs (painted bowling balls) wishing well and a tin can sculpture. Call the sheriff’s non-emergency number if you own these.
August 9 Lakes Area and local fire official responded to call that a pressure washer exploded at the bus barn in Lindstrom. Incident happened about 9:25 a.m. No injuries reported, but there was damage and debris.
