Chisago Lakes Fishing Team is looking for current 8th-12th graders to join for a fun summer of bass fishing on our local lakes. They will compete against neighboring schools in conference tournaments and weekly against each other in smaller in-house tournaments. Whether you are an avid angler or are just looking to give it a try, this is a great opportunity for you.
Please join them for their annual kick-off meeting on Tuesday, March 23 at The Uncommon Loon in Chisago City at 7pm. They will also have the option to join the meeting via Google if you prefer.
Please contact Christy at 612-710-6052 or Craig at 612-499-6880 if you have any questions that need to be answered prior to the meeting. You can also check out their Facebook page at Chisago Lakes Fishing Team for up to date information.
And, of course this year when the Chisago Lakes girls’ hockey team is having an unbelievable season we as fans can’t go see them in person. With our luck, they will win the state tournament this year.
Congrats to all of the Wildcat and Viking teams for having great seasons in this pandemic influenced year. I have talked to a bunch of players and the concensus is that yes it stinks they are playing in mostly empty arenas, but they are just happy to be playing.
I wrote about this a few weeks ago, St. Bridgets Church made the tough decision to not hold their super-popular fish fry this year.
It’s a bummer to say the least, but they are partnering with most of the local restaurants and urging church fish fry patrons to visit local restaurants and enjoy their great fish specials. We have some great fish-Friday specials in our area and each restaurant prepares it their own special way. I have my favorite, but we try to get out to different ones to help these businesses that have been crippled by the pandemic and the Governor’s orders (plural). Let’s get out and help our local restaurants! Thank you.
