Ann was born on June 14, 1940, to parents Alfred and Ellen Nelson. She graduated from Taylors Falls High School in 1958. Ann married Richard Rue on December 6, 1958, and in 1971 they purchased the home farm from her parents.
Ann was proud of her deep roots and at the time of her death, her home had been in her family for 148 years. She worked for 20 years as a cook at Parmly Nursing Home in Chisago City, after which she volunteered there in the dietary department and helped to host parties for the residents. Ann loved the simple things in life; such as enjoying the sunshine while sitting on her deck, attending and hosting tea parties, spending time with her cats, and baking treats for family and friends, and for coffee hour after church services.
Ann is preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband Richard, and her favorite cat Milo. She will be dearly missed by her children, Carol Rue (Julie Anderson) and MaryJane Schultz (Arlen); sister Jane Greene; and in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Our family extends thanks to the medical and palliative care team at Regions Hospital and to her caregivers from Kindred Hospice, especially her nurse, Racheal.
