A number of small fires were reported that thankfully got put out before they spread last week. There are drought conditions everywhere in the county and burning is not advised. One incident was caused by someone burning organic materials in their Lindstrom yard with a torch. There also were three small fires called in that were located in the ditch alongside Hwy. 95 in Sunrise Township, at Mica and Park Trails, that area firefighters extinguished rapidly.

June 13 a theft of items from a car parked on Stacy Trail, including a Ninetendo Switch and pharmaceuticals.

June 12 a suspect was apprehended in Rushseba Township after a disturbance call about 4 p.m. Two injured parties were transported for medical care who were allegedly assaulted.

June 11 This was not a local incident but a man from North Branch died when he fell off a pontoon boat into Big Sandy Lake, Aitkin County, around midnight.  Authorities found Nathen Waldo, 34, hours later reportedly in a part of the lake about 30 feet deep on Saturday.  Charges against the boat operator, age 34 from Maplewood, are being pursued.

June 10
A 55 year old female was cited and ordered to never enter the property again after videotape showed shoplifting behavior.

A two car crash reported at Stark Road, Fish Lake Township, about 1 a.m.  Driver needed to be extricated from vehicle, which a witness said was driven off the roadway into the ditch. Driver went to Cambridge Medical Center.

June 9 a northbound car on Lofton crashed into the rear of a car stopped to turn westbound onto Lofton, north of Lindstrom, about 9:15 p.m.  No injuries.

June 8 complaint of a squatter in a vacant home in rural North Branch. Deputies executed an arrest warrant about 7:30 after apprehending suspect who fled briefly.
