Her opening round 80 was a personal best score for her, and featured three birdies and only two holes worse than a bogey. After a shaky start of bogeys in seven of her first eight holes, Erickson rattled off three birdies over her next five holes to bring the score down. She ended up shooting a 43 on the front nine and a one-over 37 on the back nine.
In her second round, she only had one hole worse than a bogey, but she couldn’t recapture the birdies, and ended up shooting an 85 for a total of 165 over the two-day tourney.
For Bistodeau, she went 93-98 for a total of 191 at Sand Creek in Jordan. North Branch is in Class AA, so they play a different course than CL.
“Her chipping and putting was great on day one, but she struggled a bit hitting fairways with her driver, and ususally she’s so consistent from the tee,” Head Coach Jerome Huselid said. “On the second day, she hit the fairways and had some beautiful drives, but struggled on some really fast, challenging greens. She had a lot of tough chips and tough situations. I was proud of her effort and she played very positively, enjoying her first state tournament.”
