It was so nice to finally have a town celebration. Maybe I am getting old, but the pandemic felt like it lasted for years on end. To be in public, without masks and seeing people smiling and interacting is so enjoyable for me to see. Looks like there were others feeling the same way.
The Chisago Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce is in need of volunteers.
They will once again be hosting the Chisago Lakes Triathlon on July 25. They are in need of filling every position, all times of the day. If you want to help hand out with providing water, they need you. If you want to help the swimmers transition to the bike race, they need you. If you want to be a flag person for the bike route, they need you. Volunteers spots are usually only a few hours of your time and are so appreciated by the racers. If you want to be part of this great tradition, please give the Chamber a call at 651-257-1177 or you can volunteer on line at www.chisagolakes chamber.com.
The Chisago County Historical Society is holding its annual meeting on Sunday, June 27 at the Amador Heritage Center.
The public is invited to come enjoy a pie and ice cream social at the picnic shelter. The event begins at 2 p.m. with music performed by Sunrise River Trio. Bring your lawnchairs.
This weekend is one of Winehaven’s biggest of the year.
Their super-popular Raspberries & Wine Festival runs Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. This year you can sample new wines and they have my favorite wine slushies. How about six flavors of wine slushies? There will be food trucks, carriage rides and crafts as well. We will see you there.
Chisago County is still sitting at 52 deaths related to COVID-19. We have had 6,201 total confirmed cases and since June 6, we are only recording a single new case of Covid per day. Great news!
According to Public Health, there are 26,321 Chisago County residents that have received at least one vaccine shot with 24,763 have completed both of their shots.
