Cheri was born on August 10, 1947 in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin to parents Lloyd Slattengren and Dora (Vitalis) Slattengren. Cheri graduated from Taylors Falls High School in 1965, and then went on and became a Licensed RN at Ancker School of Nursing. Cheri stayed in the nursing field her entire career, going from nursing to becoming an educator in the nursing field and retired from Pine Technical College. After retirement, her days were filled with friends, family, traveling, and continuing traditions on the family farm homestead. Cheri was known for her kindness, genuine smile, and sharing her caring spirit.
She is preceded in death by her parents Lloyd and Dora “Willie” (Vitalis) Slattengren, and brother Ronald Slattengren. Cheri is survived by her sons: Troy Klein of Lindstrom, MN; Trent Klein of Texas; Travis (Julie) Klein of Shafer, MN; grandchildren Cameron Lance, Jacob Klein, Tristyn Klein, Allie Klein, Justin Klein, and Karah Klein; great grandchild William Klein-Ricci; brothers Dennis Slattengren, Gregory (Suzanne) Slattengren, Kevin (Theresa) Slattengren, Todd (Gail) Slattengren, Joel (Corrine) Slattengren and many nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date when we can gather with all of Cheri’s loved ones at the homestead. Final resting place will be Franconia Cemetery in Franconia, MN.
