Getting back to normal - with wine and music

Getting back to normal - with wine and music

Winehaven is holding a fun event this weekend.  This is Tap the Barrel weekend where you can taste some of their wines directly from the barrel.  The event is a two-day affair that runs Saturday from 10 am to 5pm and Sunday from 11am to 5pm.  They do ask that you please make a reservation by going to Winehaven.com and registering.

I have spoken with some local veterans and it sounds like Memorial Day will be back to normal this year.  Good news for those of us who like to pay tribute to those who have served our great country and made it what it is today.  We will have detailed information next week in the Press and Search Shopper.  It will be nice to get back to normal.

Speaking of restrictions lifting, it appears we are trending in the right direction to get to normalcy.  It has been forever and a day since we could enjoy each other without masks on.  Maybe it’s just me, but I really struggled with hearing people correctly while they were wearing masks.  Apparently I have become quite adept at reading lips.  I know that I have attended way too many rock concerts in my life.  The ringing in my ears reminds me every day.  I did get good at nodding at you and your stories while wearing a mask...all I heard was Charlie Brown’s teacher speaking.  Sorry.

Good news in regards to the restriction lift. Harmony in the Park is a full go this summer.  They have a full slate of great entertainment at Lions Park in Lindstrom.  The White Sidewalls kick things off on June 2 with a cool car show to accompany the entertainment.  As always the concerts are free, just bring your lawn chair or blanket and come enjoy it!

Thanks to all of our great readers who submitted their kids prom photos and to those who have submitted fish photos.  We love to share your photos with the community!  If you have any photos, whether it’s fishing photos, or fun community photos, we want to see them.  Send them in to [email protected] with a small blurb about them and hopefully we will get them in.

We are coming up on our subscription renewal date.  Cards and payments are due by May 21 and can be sent here or dropped off.  We can take credit card payments over the phone if that works easier for you.  We don’t actually cut people off for a little while, so if you haven’t paid as of yet, there is still time.  Our mailing address is P.O. Box 748, Lindstrom, MN 55045. Our phone number is 651-257-5115 and our email is [email protected]. Once again thank you for reading.  Without you we don’t exist!
