Both Chisago Lakes girls and boys diving teams have had success on the state level dating back over a decade ago, and this year was no different.

All season long, Hattie Opdahl and Claudia Stipe have been at the top of the podiums for diving, and they were typically joined by teammates Emma Wakefield and Sylvia Struve.
The Section 4A meet was no different at Two Rivers High School in Inver Grove Heights. All four divers earned medals with two of them earning high enough finishes to head to the state tournament.

Senior Claudia Stipe, who is a veteran of gymnastics and diving state tournaments, finished in second place as the top finishing Wildcat.

Hattie Opdahl, a junior who also qualified for the state tournament the last time the MSHSL had one in 2019, came in third place and punched her second ticket to the prestigious tourney.

With the top four divers making it to state out of the section, the pair comfortably made it in.

Emma Wakefield and Sylvia Struve also both medaled in the meet by finished in the top eight, but they pair missed out on the state tourney. Wakefield came in seventh place and Struve in eighth place.

The two state-bound divers will take to the board at noon on Thursday, November 18 at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center at the University of Minnesota. They would potentially dive on Saturday, November 20 as well if they move through to the finals.
