Larry served in the Vietnam war in 1970-71 with the 1st Cavalry 3rd Brigade Airmobile unit. On his return from duty he continued his work as pipefitter general foreman for 45 years before retiring to a life of motorcycling, kayaking on Lake Superior and being Papa to his beloved grandchild.
Larry is probably known best in the community for being the trumpet player on Memorial Day at the area services. An honor he had done for over 50 years, to acknowledge all veterans who have served our country.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Dawne; his daughter Nissa (Chris) Otterness; son Nate (Brenda); grandchildren Gretchen and Brad. Also his brothers and sister, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
