Easter is a big deal - my dock stolen

About to get religious here so if it offends you, this is your warning to turn the page.  This weekend is the one of the two most important days for Christians.  It is the day Jesus rose from the dead. This fulfilled the scriptures and Jesus’ word to his disciples.  I am not trying to give you a lesson in religion, I am far from the person to give a lesson on religious history.  Rather, I am bringing this up because we as a society get lost in presents, family gatherings and tons of candy.  We should be recognizing the true meaning behind these holidays, if you will.  I am not telling you to convert, nor go to church, heck not to even watch a preacher on television.  Rather, all I can do as someone who has been on both sides of religion, is tell you it has changed my life.  You can belive in God or not, but this is one person who knows God is real.  No joke he is real.

If you are thinking about taking in an Easter service locally, this paper is loaded with advertising from local churches listing their Easter services.  We have some great churches around here that would love to share Easter Sunday with you.

On that note, I hope that you and your family have an absolutely wonderful Easter. We are excited to see our nephew whom we have only seen a few times, due to covid.

Having just completed our first full winter living on the lake, we have noticed a few things.  One glaring thing is the wind blows all the time during the winter.  We had so many beautiful calm summer nights a few months ago, but the winter winds howled and so did our furnace.
Another thing we learned, just this week as a matter of fact, was the strange behavior of spring ice.  Example? Sunday, I was working on the house and I heard some really odd noises.  Being pretty dense, I paid no attention. Then for some reason I peeked my head outside and saw the ice, which had been at leat 30 feet or more off our shore, was now pushing against our boat lift and making loud cracking noises.  I then looked at our dock which was rolled up on our shore and had gone up and over the ice shelf and now was being pulled out into the lake.  So here goes Matt tromping into the icy water yelling at the ice to “give me my dock back”....

My neighbors must think they have a rocket scientist living next door.
