The main street in Taylors Falls was the scene of two minor crash reports this past weekend.  The first was at 1:45 p.m. when a car pulled out of a parking spot and hit the side of a car in traffic. A second accident at 4:47 p.m. also was another swipe incident with no injuries.
Friday, July 29

A male died after lifesaving efforts failed at Beach Park in Lindstrom and during air transport to the Twin Cities. The man was boating and reported to be having a medical episode and authorities went to meet his pontoon boat, about 1:45 p.m.  Air ambulance waited at a landing zone at the Chisago Lakes Middle School.  The victim, reportedly from Coon Rapids,  is not yet being named by the medical examiner.
Two kayakers were reported missing about 11 p.m. County sheriff’s patrol found them near a small firepit, about 11 p.m. at an address off Ferry Road.  The male was arrested for an active Dakota County warrant and the female allegedly had meth on her person and she could face charges.
A high speed pursuit was initiated when trying to stop a motorcycle at Sioux Trail and Apache Lane, North Branch about 9 p.m.  The suspect was found at a residence and booked.

July 30 a fatality reported resulting from a crash called in about 10 a.m. at Lofton and 250th.  The early details are that four Corvette cars were southbound on Lofton and the lead car, with a lone occupant/driver, went off the road, hit a pole, rolled and came to rest upside down pinning the driver. The sheriff’s office said he could not be revived. The victim is David Mclean, 38, Brooklyn Park.  If anyone witnessed the crash the sheriff’s investigator Sgt. July 28 A potential break-in was observed at an apartment in Rush City, about 1:15 a.m. Two male suspects were pursued, one was detained using a Taser and the second was located by a sheriff K9 unit after fleeing the scene and attempting to hide. One suspect had an arrest and detain order on his person from Pine Cunty.
