August 5 a pair of dogs attacked a single animal in the 308th Street area of Shafer Township, resulting in the victim dog having to be put down from injuries sustained. One pit bull, described as black and white, is deemed a “dangerous dog” and is being addressed with containment restrictions, etc. by law.
August 4 local police were asked to assist at a crash scene in the Forest Lake-rural Chisago City area, about 4 p.m. No details.
August 3 Deputies were sent to the Kwik Trip West in North Branch about 11:39 p.m. when someone “became physical” in an argument. No arrests noted.
August 2 A report of gunshots striking a home in Sunrise Township, on Kost Trail. Deputy found a suspect bullet and it matched what a neighbor was discharging around that same time from his weapon. Neighbor was ticketed.
Cattle were loose on I-35 around Stacy-Lent area (Fir Trail) reported about 7:12 a.m. On sheriff Facebook post if you want to have a look. Cattle owner ticketed for hazardous nuisance.
Over the past week Lakes Area Police and rural patrols through the sheriff’s office had a number of complaints about damaged mailboxes. Not just one area affected.
