Brian Froberg
Brian Douglas Froberg, of Lindstrom, MN passed away peacefully on November 29, 2022 with his loving wife by his side.
Brian was born on October 14, 1952 in Rush City, MN to parents Vernel and Janet (Streed) Froberg and was raised in Chisago City, MN on the family farm. Brian attended school in Chisago where he played sports throughout. After graduating from Chisago Lakes High School in 1971 he enlisted in the United States Navy. He later met and married his wife Debra Peterson in 1982. They had three children, which they raised in Lindstrom, MN, where they were surrounded by many close family members and friends, providing the children close relationships to grandmothers, many aunts and uncles, and cousins.
Brian loved watching sports - especially Chisago Lakes and Minnesota teams. He could often be heard critiquing the Minnesota Vikings during losses. Brian was also an avid outdoorsman, especially hunting and fishing. During many deer seasons he spent his time as a member of the “sub-club” in Lanesboro, MN with the rest of the Shanahan Deer Camp. When Brian retired, he was found golfing every day in the summer months at the Chisago Lakes Golf Course. Brian was a proud and loving father and husband, and an extremely hardworking and loyal friend - always willing to lend a hand.
Brian is preceded in death by his parents Vernel and Janet Froberg; brothers in-law Melvin Stromgren and James Ostendorf; and nephew Steve “Stu” Peterson. Brian is survived by his wife Debra; children Tiffany (Eric) Schmitt, Todd (Elaina), Trent (Justina); siblings Carol Stromgren, Tom (Joy), John (Karen), and Geri Ostendorf; mother in-law Marcie Peterson; brother in-laws Mike and Doug Peterson; sister in-law Karen Peterson; many cousins and nieces and nephews, and 8 grandchildren - Blake, Blayne, Kendall, Richie, Karly, Nolan, Cooper, and Olivia.
A celebration of life will be held at Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom, MN Sunday, December 11, 2022 1-4 p.m. Family and friends are invited to meet after the celebration of life at the Chisago Lakes Golf Course Bar and Grill to sit, relax and reminisce about a life well lived.
