CL struggles at Cambridge-Isanti Tri
The Wildcat wrestling team’s only action over the past week was at the Cambridge-Isanti Triangular on Friday, September 9. The Wildcats lost both duals that night. Rush City/Braham beat the Wildcats 63-18, and hosts Cambridge-Isanti won by the nearly identical score of 62-15.
Against Rush City, the Wildcats fielded wrestlers at eight of the 14 weights, and three Wildcats won their matches – all by pin. Franklin Stark (132) pinned Anthony Graves just 56 seconds into their match. Connor Frederixon (195) pinned John Cacioppo at 2:21. And Chuck Gilman (285) pinned Jace Allerton at 2:34.
The Wildcats also fielded eight wrestlers against the Bluejackets, and three Wildcats came out on top in their matches. Andrew Novack (145) major-decisioned Quinton Harcey 16-4. Michael Amos (152) won by technical fall over Maverick Henderson 22-7 at the end of the second period. And Gilman (285) pinned Brady Andersen with just two seconds left in their match.
Wrestling Whangdoodles
The Wildcats will welcome the St. Francis Fighting Saints to Chisago Lakes High School tonight for a dual meet at 6 p.m. On Friday, the Wildcats will host a 14-team tournament that gets underway at 4 p.m. And on Wednesday, December 21, the Wildcats will head to East Ridge High School for a quadrangular that starts at 5 p.m.
