John Sausen
Born January 2, 1941 in Los Angeles, California, he grew up in Wyoming, Minneota where he attended elementary school and then Chisago City High School, class of 1958. At 18, he got a job with Capitol Airlines, which later merged with United Airlines. While working there, he was drafted into the Army and deployed to Korea. He retired from United Airlines with a combined total of 40 years as a flight and load operations specialist.
Thanks to the free and discounted airfares, John and family traveled extensively. Hunting and fishing trips along with his love of spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, gardening, woodworking, and community volunteering filled his retirement time.
John and Patricia (Johnson) were married on October 23, 1965. They had just celebrated their 57th anniversary.
John is survived by his wife Patricia of Aurora, Colorado, three children; Barbra Sims (Mary Reppy) of Julesburg, Colorado, Rebecca (William Torbet) of Aurora, Colorado, and John M. Sausen (Andrea) of Springfield, Missouri. He is also survived by brothers Tom Sausen (Bernie) of Wyoming, Minnesota and Joe Sausen (Geri) of North Branch, Minnesota also six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by parents Myrtle and Merial Sausen, grandchildren Michael Sausen, Megan Van Norstrand and Kristina Sausen.
Interment at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado.
