The Chisago Lake Lutheran Church was a busy place the morning of Saturday Dec 10, with a celebration of the traditional Scandinavian Sankta Lucia Day.  Due to covid limitations this is the first program since 2019.  Lucia, in center with candle crown, was played by Grace Carlson. 

Swedish lore tells of the eldest daughter awakening the family and being helped by a cast of characters and attendants as she brings morning sweets around the household. The practice is to honor the memory of the Swedish Saint.  Pictured this year are: in front of Carlson: Karlee Krona, Cheyenne Zack;  with star, Beau Miller; in baker hats Joy Carlson and Audrey Greene, in back row not in order:  Sofia Dodge, Clare Colberg, Liara Hulzebos, Kaja Hulzebos, Jadon Greene, Eli Dodge to Lucia’s left.  The program includes coffee and baked goods and is made possible with freewill donations.  The musical accompanist for the chorus is Marilyn Wahlstrom.
