Sandra Mohn

Sandra Kay Mohn (Sandy) left this world on December 16, 2022 surrounded by her family, at the age of 77.

Words cannot describe what an amazing Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Friend she was.  She will be missed by all that knew her.

Sandy was a hometown girl, born in Chisago City and raised on her family's farm outside of North Branch.  She graduated from North Branch High School, and met and married husband Paul Mohn. They raised their four children Renee, Lesley, Travis and Kelly Rae on the property they bought from her mom and pop, Agnes and Arvid Elmstrand. Those four kids blessed her with 11 grand-kids and four greats, who fondly referred to her as g-ma.

She retired after a 25 year career with UPS.  She often talked about the work being hard but enjoyed all of the wonderful people she worked with and met.

Travel was a passion of hers. The only state that she didn't visit was Hawaii. She was able to take separate trips with each of her kids and some grand-kids, cruises to Alaska and the Caribbean, trips to Scandinavia, Mexico and Canada. Other hobbies included golf, NASCAR and playing pull-tabs.

Our family was very lucky that she was able to retire at an early age. The time we shared with her was priceless.  Strong willed, sassy, determined, funny and honest are just a few phrases that come to mind when talking about this lovely lady.

There was heartache and loss along the way, parents, sisters and friends. The loss of her eldest daughter, Renee, was a pain that she was never able to fully recover from. But there was so much joy in her life as well. This is what we consider to be a life well lived.

She is preceded in death by her parents Arvid and Agnes Elmstrand, sisters Emillie and Wendy, husband Paul Mohn, and daughter Renee Mohn/Armstrong.

She is survived by children; Lesley Mohn (Lynn), Travis Mohn (Kelly), Kelly Rae, Hunter (Robert), grandchildren; Jessica Olson (Tim), James Armstrong, Jacob Armstrong, Shelby Armstrong (Zach), Ryan Armstrong (Suthree), Travis LaChapelle (Melissa), Kelsey Mohn (Mike), Brianna Mohn (Alex), Paula Mohn (Nate), Seth Hunter (Madi), Sadie Hunter, great grandchildren; Evalynn, Emersyn, Elana, Ian; brother and sisters, Carole Markusson, Donald (Roberta) Elmstrand and Jean (Henery) Egelkraut as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Almelund.  Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at church on Wednesday. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction and care of Grandstrand Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Branch.  Condolences maybe expressed online at www. grandstrandfh.com
