The show will be filled with local businesses that are there to show you what they can offer you and/or your business. There are landscapers, accountants, contractors, insurance agencies, people who install pools and hot tubs, heating and cooling, real estate agents, city and county offices such as parks, hazardous waste and lake improvement, and there even is an apple orchard selling goodies. Cloggers will once again entertain us on the main stage at noon on Saturday and Sunday.
Last time I looked outside five inches of snow was falling, so what else do we have to do until the snow melts? Come on out and meet your friends and neighbors and take a stroll through the show. You may just come home with some ideas for your home...or business!
This winter has been amazing. Amazingly cold. I am not sure if you have opened your energy bill yet or not, but if not, you may want to pour yourself a stiff drink and take a seat before opening.
Ours here at the Press was well over double of what we normally are socked with during the pit of winter. And, we did have a furnace crap out on us, and we weren’t running a gas furnace for five days. By the way Jason at Aerotek and his guys did an amazing job getting us a new furnace— in an amazingly fast period of time.
This winter is not going to go down as one of the coldest, but it definitely made for a lot more inside entertainment this season compared to years past.
Last week I was delivering papers on a Friday afternoon. As I was driving through Lindstrom heading east, on Hwy. 8 an older truck came flying out onto the highway. He proceeded to oversteer and swerved and almost struck a parked car. From there he oversteered and crossed two lanes of Hwy. 8 and almost hit a car by Dominos Pizza. Keep in mind this was the day we had 50 mph winds with blowing snow, so you never know who has bald tires or a vehicle that doesn’t handle in the snow.
Anyway, as I came to Center City on the highway, I could see him a few cars in front of me. He proceeded to take a left onto Summit by the Grumpy Minnow. He then jumped a snowbank (yes, he did get airborne) and landed followed by the Center City street sign flying up and over his hood. He then drove the curbs to his home in Center City a few blocks from there.
Yes folks I did notify the authorities.
