January 2 Sunday night a police patrol made a stop to check on a vehicle in a ditch The Lakes Area Police officer came across meth and stolen property allegedly in the vehicle and the 52 year old male driver had a warrant, and he was arrested.

New Year’s Day Saturday, a number of power outages were reported in Chisago City,  due to a powerline that went down into a ditch reported about 4:30 a.m.  The line sparked small fires just off Highway 8, between Shoquist Lane and the MidWestOne bank,  and loss of power while Xcel made repairs for a couple of hours, caused an alarm  to be activated as far away as Lakeside School at Karmel Ave.

January 1 Chisago City fire department personnel and equipment went to the channel between North and South Center lakes in Center City to extricate a snowmobile that broke through.  The deputy who was dispatched learned the sled actually went into the water the day before, (New Year’s Eve) about 3 p.m. It was unclear why the county had not been notified at that time. It was now being asked to post the area for thin ice.  The sled was removed by about mid-day January 1.

December 27 the public works director for Lindstrom reported a streetlight pole downed at Lakelawn Drive and Lakeside Lane.
