Burglary case being investigated
A call March 3 reporting a suspicious person on rural property in Fish Lake Township resulted in an arrest and may have extended charges once the on-going investigation concludes.  Chisago County Captain Mahowald told the Press the details can’t be made public at this time but there will probably be more to announce after a search warrant and other tools are used.  A 33-year-old male was booked and arraigned on burglary charges and a $100,000 bond ordered after he was apprehended. The incident began as North Branch and sheriff’s patrol responded to a call of a man in a ski mask on a property, who had just left in a vehicle headed towards Fish Lake. The authorities stopped the vehicle and determined it had been used in a burglary. The vehicle was taken to an impound lot awaiting a search warrant.
Also, many calls over past week for bad weather-related falls on ice and minor car crashes.

March 3
The sheriff’s patrol and area firefighters were called to a smoke filled house on Gopher Avenue, about 8:30 a.m.   A minor aged male had been awakened by alarms and smoke was pouring out of the house. Deputy disconnected a home heating boiler from its power source and no injury reported.

Burglary and assault in progress at Riverfront Apartments in Taylors Falls. Call came in about 6 p.m. Apartment burglary charges pending. Suspect was being held by civilian when deputy arrived.

March 5
Two sets of keys left at Lakes Area Police offices at Lindstrom City Hall. The keys were found in parking lot at Chisago City Post Office. Call Police 257-0622 to describe if you may have lost them.

Chisago City Kwik Trip theft reported. Surveillance camera footage under review.
