Only a couple of weeks left for the St. Bridget of Sweden Catholic Church fish fry. They have had tremendous turnout and I would expect those numbers to get even higher as Lent nears an end. The dinner is served from 5-7 p.m. Friday evenings with food-to-go available from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. See you there!
Festival Theater in St. Croix Falls is currently running a rendition of “Sarah, Plain and Tall.” The play brings to life the heartwarming story of a Kansas farmer, Jacob Witting, a widower with two children—Anna and Caleb, who places an ad in the newspapers seeking a wife.
He receives a letter from a Sarah Wheaton of Maine who says she will visit the family for a month to see how things work out: "I will come by train. I will wear a yellow bonnet. I am plain and tall." Narrated by Anna reminiscing on the eve of her wedding, the story unfolds in a fascinating flashback on that often exciting, sometimes tumultuous month, when Sarah and the Wittings came to know one another and learned a few things about themselves as well. I’m told the production is a must-see, so plan on attending. The production runs until the end of the weekend so there is till time to catch it.
Speaking of shows, the Chisago Lakes Senior High School would like to invite the public to the 52nd annual Variety Show. This year’s show is titled “A walk down memory lane.” The variety shows March 24, 25 and 26 are always entertaining and the PAC is a great place for entertainment. The shows all begin at 7 p.m. and cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children.
