Monday storm leaves behind destruction
Thousands of Xcel customers and a few hundred East Central Electric accounts were without power Monday this week when high winds came through Chisago County before noon.  Most reported storm damage was along and near the Highway 8 corridor.  The outage impact was mostly the result of trees falling and damaging powerlines, but a few power poles were also seen toppled.  Outages were: 1,325 in Lindstrom, 474 in Center City, 934 in Shafer, Taylors Falls 904.  ECE outages were reported as impacting 319 accounts in total for the county.

Sunday, May 8 a fire on the west side of an apartment building on Redwing Avenue, in Shafer. Nobody hurt. Call came in about 6:24 p.m.
May 7 dog bite in Rush City reported. Address was on Estate Drive.

May 6 Report of unlawful activity at address on Eifer Trail, Lent Township. Digging without a locate call, trees being cut down that belong to neighbor, etc.

Brinks Market parking lot light pole was struck and knocked down, reported about 7:50 p.m. Vehicle towed, nobody hurt.
Stolen car recovered in Cambridge that was taken by a suspect arrested in Nessel Township.

Lakes Area officer at scene of a one-car crash at Olinda and Glader, about 5:30 a.m. Vehicle driver hit trees and pole, not seriously injured.
May 5 Catalytic convertor stolen in Rush City.

May 4 Dog bite reported at address on Andrew Street, Rush City.

Grass fire in solar array area, in Sunrise, reported about 4:50 p.m. Almelund, and DNR crews dispatched.

A tackle box was turned in,  found at Little Green Lake access. Call Lakes Area Police office to describe to claim.
Two vaping device incidents at Chisago Lakes High School and one at the middle school.
