The new season of “The Chosen” starts November 18 and the credits listing locals  as extras in this Internet and device-delivered series of Bible stories just keep rolling.
The latest news is that four congregants from Lakes Free Church will be seen in the upcoming Season Three, airing in a week.  Press readers met a local extra in the ‘Sermon on the Mount’ episode a while ago.  This season will feature the story of the ‘Feeding of the 5,000’  You will see “Andrew” played by actor Noah James, surrounded by thousands of extras on a hillside and...what’s this...he  is handing a piece of bread to a lady from Lindstrom.  The rule is generally to not take photos while on set, but this official production image just happened to include the hand of Mary Mosbey, of Lindstrom and the back of her husband Deral’s head
She says she was thrilled to see herself  in the photo,  and it feels like a blessing to be included in promoting this series.

“The Chosen” is a phenomenon...a crowd-funded film experience that has developed a life of its own over the last few years.  An estimated 12,000 men, women and children have made their way first to Utah and more recently,  to Texas, to where the faith-based series is shot.  Participants pay $1,100 to be on the set.  You may also donate on-line at the website and not travel if you want to support the project that way.

Episodes 1 and 2 for season three are set to go on-line and hit the Angel  Studios app November 18.

There is no firm schedule in place. Stories for The Chosen series are released when they are deemed ready.  Peacock, Prime Video, Apple TV and other avenues carry The Chosen, check your information.

Series creator Dallas Jenkins, who attended Northwestern University in St Paul, expresses his awe in talking about The Chosen experience, which is touted on the industry website IMDb as the largest crowd-funded project of all time.  Jenkins says,  “I have been in the business for 20 years, I haven’t experienced anything like this.”

Lindstrom Evangelical Free Church-goers Mary and Deral Mosbey,  Caleb and Wayne Welsch participated in the filming of ‘Feeding the 5,000.’

Caleb and Wayne were on the set on a different day from when the Mosbeys were there, but the four know each other.

Mary told the Press she and Deral enjoy the episodes so much their birthday party a year ago was celebrated using The Chosen as a  theme.

They’d planned to visit the Holy Land but a couple of scheduled trips were called off.  Having been immersed in  and surrounded by fellow Christians, in their Texas experience—Mary added  they no longer feel the need to go abroad.

She fully supports The Chosen, buys the childrens’ books that complement the shows, and even wears logo sweatshirts and accessories. “I am a Chosen groupie,” she admits, and as for Deral, he is just happy for her to be able to have a thrill of her lifetime.
