To all of the newly elected individuals, whether new additions or re-elected incumbents, congratulations! Here’s hoping for a bright future with positivity and mutual respect among all council members, board members, or whatever group you have been elected to. Change can only come with collaboration. Congratulations to all of you!
As we draw near to (gulp) Christmas season, there are a few Thanksgiving events that need discussing.
The folks organzing, and the many volunteers that make up, the Chisago Lakes Community Thanksgiving Meal are looking for a few more volunteers. Whether you have an hour to give, or you would be willing to cook something at your home and bring it to the meal prior, any help would be much appreciated.
Please give them a call if you can help at 651-257-6300. If you are planning on attending the meal to dine, they are asking people to please call and make a reservation at the same number 257-6300. Take-out meals will once again be available this year.
This Friday is Veterans Day. One of the most important days in our country that isn’t religious. It is a day to honor those men and women living and dead, who have dutifully served our great country over the years. There are a few events that local Veterans can take in on Friday. In Taylors Falls, Vets are invited to come to Taylors Falls ElementarySchool at 10am with a awesome lunch to follow at the Taylors Falls Fire Department at 11am.
In Chisago City, Veterans are invited to Zion Lutheran Church for a wonderful meal for all Veterans. The meal runs from 3-6pm and is held in the fellowship hall. Yours truly will be serving food, see you there!
