Preceded in death by father Thor; step-father Al Harvath Sr. Survived by loving wife of 51 years, Karen; children Jamie (Heather), Heidi (Tim) Whiteford; grandchildren, Brody, Kylie; mother Verna Harvath; siblings, Jerry (Rhonda), Renae (Rick) Perkins; step-siblings, Al (Barb) Harvath Jr., Brian (Nancy) Harvath, Pat (Randy) Crumpton, Donna (Rob) Anderson; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Ron was born on September 2, 1950 in Riverdale, ND to Thor and Verna (Bjerke) Tveitbakk. Ron grew up in the Twin Cities area and graduated from Richfield High School in 1968. He attended St. Paul Bible College (Crown College) where he met his wife, Karen and they were married in August 1971. Ron graduated in 1972 with a BA degree double major in Theology and History. He then became the manager of Northwestern Bookstore in Minneapolis, until they moved to Chisago City in 1974.
Ron and Karen had two children, Jamie and Heidi. He was active in church musical groups, youth groups, and leadership positions. Throughout the years, he worked in computer sales, business solutions, and most recently was proud to be an over the road semi driver. Ron was an easy-going, kind and honest man who enjoyed fishing, golfing, spending time outdoors in the woods, family vacations, reading and especially playing the guitar.
A celebration of Ron’s life will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 21 with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. at Roberts Family Funeral Home, Forest Lake.
