Goodbye and thank you Neva, so much to do for Halloween here
Neva was a firecracker. She was easily (and I mean easily) worked up with some good natured ribbing. We would sometimes be brought to tears here simply by mentioning a former president. You could literally wind her up and let her go. She was such a great person. Always asking about our children and my wife. Always giving to charity without people knowing. She loved her family to death. While nobody wants to see someone suffer, one thing is for sure, Neva is in Heaven with Luther. Rest in peace Neva.
The screams can be heard coming from Ojiketa Regional Park in Chisago City. Ojiketa Haunt is in full swing and this week it continues. Friday and Saturday from 7-9:30pm.
As I wrote last week, this Saturday your kids are invited to Falloween, also being held at Ojiketa Regional Park. I won’t get into all of the happenings, but let’s just say if you have a pre-teen to baby aged child, they will enjoy all of the activities available at the non-scary, fun event. We have an ad in this edition of the Press if you want more details. Otherwise if you don’t bring your kids, you are doing them a disservice.
If you are looking for great trick-or-treating areas to take the kids, how about uptown Lindstrom on Friday. Most the businesses will be handing out awesome snacks and candy to all of the little ghosts and goblins. Adults can dress in costume too.
The event runs from 4-6pm Friday.
Another trick-or-treat event locally is at A-Pro Pools and Spas, on the frontage road along Hwy 8. This one is held on Halloween and runs from 3-5pm. So this can serve as a primer for hitting the neighborhoods. They will have hot dogs, nachos, drinks, full size candy bars, games and a bouncy house with an obstacle course. Dang, I think I may have to try to pass as a trick-or-treater...
