Capitol breach case extended for four local defendants

The four Lindstrom men charged in connection with alleged offenses committed during the January 6, 2021 U.S. Capitol Breach are not due in court again until June. There was a virtual hearing March 24 held, as reported, and the case was extended.

The judge granted all the defendants one month, to April 24,  to update the federal court on the status of their legal counsel.  One attorney was giving notice he was leaving the case(s).

The four: Jonah Westbury, Robert Westbury, Isaac Westbury and Aaron James, are moving through the courts as a grouping.  They have declined a plea offer, according to federal court records.

They face a variety of charges including property damage, entering restricted areas, parading and demonstrating without a permit. Jonah and Robert face misdemeanor level charges while Isaac and Aaron James  are charged with felony level offenses, including use of a “dangerous weapon.”

The defendants’ next hearing before the judge is June 1, 2023.  Conditions of their release stay in effect. (Story Press Feb. 23.)
