The crash reports were piling up from incidents on Highway 8 last week. The state patrol did not provide summaries of calls, but preliminary information included:

July 25 a rollover crash at Sportsmen Drive and Hwy. 8 about 11:25 a.m.  No details available.  

A three vehicle crash at Milltown in Taylors Falls about 5:10 p.m.  Lakes Area assisted deputies and state patrol, but state report unavailable.

Car ran off the highway near East Street in Chisago City and came to a stop at the railing along the below- grade walkway.  Incident reported at 9:50 p.m.  Driver refused medical care. No state report available.

Stormy weather and a lightning strike believed to be the cause of CO alarms and fire alarms tripped in Chisago Lakes area July 26 and or 27. A couple of trees were hit by strikes, sending firefighters to either put out ignited trees or to monitor smaller branches that burned themselves out...one incident was at Green Lake Trail and July Avenue.

A resident without a burn permit was torching furniture July 26 at an address on 292nd, creating black smoke reported to 9-1-1.  Lindstrom Fire Dept. was dispatched and the individual was cited.
