Cafe in Stark gets green light
The proposal for adding another story to the old Pace’s Tavern to house a residence- coffee shop business on County Road 10, in the unincorporated area of Stark, was granted partial approval last week. by the County Board. (See also June 8 Press.)
The Conditional Use Permit application had been extended to the end of its ability (120 days) and the Board agreed that some type of closure was called for. Environmental Services Director Kurt Schneider remarked that the partial authorization at least lets the applicant Joe Beaulieu move forward on aspects of the remodel and building expansion plans.
The drive-thru part of the plan which was denied, may yet come back under substantially new configuration. The safety of access, noise, lights and other considerations tied to the drive-thru. layout were unresolved by the planning commission and the County Board agreed with a recommendation to deny this.
The “Boozhoo Coffee & Cafe” is at the intersection of Cedarcrest Trail and County State Aid Highway 10.
None of the proposed uses will be able to happen until the septic system upgrade.
