Allen was born in 1930 in Milwaukee, WI to Fritz and Myrtle Tuominen. He was the youngest of three boys (Donald, Jerry and Allen) The family moved into the Chisago Lakes area in the 1940s where he went to Osceola High School. He went to Dunwoody Tech and became an accomplished draftsman and worked for McArthur Companies, Sussel, and Builders Square. He was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1967, and in 1969 he married the love of his life, Eileen Russell. Together they settled in Forest Lake, where they raised five beautiful kids together; Scott Tuominen (spouse Pamela), Elisa Peterson (spouse Lenny), Sarah Spencer (spouse James) and children; Isabella, Madelyn, Connor, Demoray and Kaitlyn), Neil Tuominen (spouse   Amanda and daughter Eleanore) and Janell Hentges (spouse Jordan).

He was a real “green thumb” and maintained an impressive garden every year. He will be remembered as a loving man who lived for his wife, kids and grandchildren. 

He passed peacefully in his Lindstrom home surrounded by his family on August 22, 2023. Allen believed in a future earthly resurrection where the earth will be transformed into a Paradise (John 5:28,29; Rev. 21:3,4). His family will miss him desperately and are eagerly looking forward to welcoming him back and having some laughs, and of course, more tomatoes from his garden!
