Northern Edge can’t get offense going during 0-6-1 start
Forest Lake 6, Northern Edge 1
The Forest Lake Rangers scored three time in a three-minute stretch early in the first period and went on to beat Northern Edge 6-1 Tuesday, December 12 at East Bethel Ice Arena. Milo Hetland scored an unassisted goal for the Edge with three minutes remaining in the second period to spoil the Rangers’ shutout bid. The Rangers outshot the Edge 42-15 for the game. One positive for the Edge is that they killed off all five Forest Lake power play opportunities.
Cambridge-Isanti 5, Northern Edge 0
The Cambridge-Isanti Bluejackets shut out the Northern Edge 5-0 Thursday, December 14 at East Bethel Ice Arena. The Bluejackets outshot the Edge 18-3 in the first period and scored three times. The Bluejackets finished the game with a 47-15 shot advantage. The Edge continued their success on the penalty kill, shutting down all three Cambridge-Isanti opportunities.
Hockey Hullaballoo
The Edge (0-6-1) hope to get their first win of the season against the Monticello Moose tomorrow night at 7 p.m. at East Bethel Ice Arena. After tomorrow night’s game, the Edge will be off until after the holiday break.
