Chisago Lakes came out on top in a dance with the Dragons of Pine City, Tuesday, December 12.

The ‘Cats blew the doors off the Pine City gym, nearly housing 100 points in the 99-68 win that moved CL to 3-1 on the year.

The Wildcats had a little trouble shaking the struggling Monticello Magic at times on Thursday, December 14, but they ultimately came away with an 88-74 win in their Mississippi 8 Conference opener.

The Wildcats got an early lead behind some dribble-drives from Patrick Rowe and some nice shooting from Zander Schmidt.

Whenever CL would extend their lead to double digits early, though, the Magic would answer with a little mini run of their own. They never took the lead from the ‘Cats, but stayed feisty enough to keep the starters on the floor for most of the game. That wasn’t always the case for Monticello the past year or so, as they’re a combined 1-30 dating back to last year.

Rowe ended with a game-high 35 points and Schmidt added 17. Ian Larsen had nine points, Ben Paulsen had eight, Kellen Meissner had seven and Luke O’Malley chipped in six.

Upcomings

Chisago Lakes travels for two out of conference games before their mini Christmas break. They took on Osceola earlier this week before traveling to Mounds View on Thursday, December 21. They’ll take on Coon Rapids and Irondale at the Chisago Lakes Tournament after Christmas on December 28 and January 2.
