James Linder
James William Linder, age 82, of Fridley, died peacefully in his sleep at his home in the early hours of Friday the 22nd of December 2023.
James was born in Minneapolis, MN on February 10, 1941, to Hilma and Richard Linder. James went to North Branch public schools before beginning a career in construction. He was married in 1963 at age 22 to Diane Anderson. They had been married for more than 60 years. He designed and built a half-dozen houses in the North Branch area; the plans often drawn on napkins over lunch. He, along with his wife and son, founded a specialty construction company, The Caulkers Co., in which he was an active participant until his death.
He enjoyed swimming, water skiing and sailing. He downhill snow skied well into his 80’s and had, up until his death, a sailboat on Lake Peppin.
James had an eye for both design and style. He loved special cars and collecting treasures at thrift stores. His house is a testament to his proficiency in acquiring unique and beautiful pieces.
He loved his grandchildren and provided them with many fond memories of sailing, skiing and just being together.
James is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Hilma Linder; his brother, Earl Linder; sisters, Leona, Lillian, June, and Janet. He is survived by wife Diane Yvonne Linder; sisters, Joyce and Diane; children, Monte (Patricia) Linder and Tawni (David) Linder Harrison; grandchildren, Derek (Natalie) Linder, Anthony (Jamie Linder, Bailey Larson, Alex Larson; and great-grandchildren, Calvin, Lucy, Mason, Danika, Neiko and Kyra.
Memorial Service December 30, at KOZLAK-RADULOVICH BLAINE CHAPEL 1385 107th Ave NE, Blaine, at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior.
