Rogers and Breck send CL losing streak to three

The Breck Mustangs outshot the Wildcats just 29-24 but scored five times to shut out the Wildcats 5-0 on Tuesday, December 19 at Chisago Lakes Arena. Mustang goalie Mackenzie Abbott stopped all 24 shots she faced to pick up her second shutout of the season. Breck scored twice in the first period, once in the second and twice in the third, including an empty-netter to seal the win.
Rogers 4, Chisago Lakes 0
The Rogers Royals broke open a close game with two goals in the third period and beat the Wildcats 4-0 on Thursday, December 27 at Rogers Ice Arena. The Royals outshot the Wildcats 40-26 in the first two periods before pulling away in the third period. Wildcat goalie Evi Reedy played well in the nets, stopping 36 of the 40 shots she faced.
Hockey Hullaballoo
The Wildcats (4-6-0) played their first nine games of the year at home. The loss to Rogers began a stretch of nine away games, including three games in the Crosstown Cup at Blake Ice Arena, which started yesterday. Your next chance to see the Wildcats at home won’t be until Thursday January 18.
After the Crosstown Cup, the next game for the Wildcats will be against the Elk River Elks at the Furniture and Things Community Event Center in Elk River next Tuesday, January 2 at 7 p.m.
