We are getting very close to the 2023 Celebration of the Lakes event.  Mother Nature has been cooperating as of late so fingers crossed it will take place as scheduled.  As I have written in the past, it will take place, and if it has to be modified then so be it, we are hardy souls in Chisago Lakes, we know how to have fun in any situation.  Stay tuned to the Press for any updates.  As of now - next week is a go - let the temps warm up and the fun begin.

We have an ad that details all the events on page 8 and beginning in this weekend’s Search Shopper, we will have a nice spread filled with all the info you need.

Speaking of the celebration, there is still time to get your raffle tickets to win a 2022 Skidoo Renegade snowmobile.  It’s an $11,000 snowmobile that will be given away at the Celebration of the Lakes event February 11 at 4pm.  You do not need to be present to win,  You can purchase tickets at the Chisago Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce, at the Kid’s Pro Ice races and from any member of the Wild River Snowmobile Club.  Good luck.

The Lindstrom Park Board invites everyone to come enjoy a night of polka dancing and great food Saturday, February 11.  The dance will feature the very-popular Chmielewski Fun Time Band  and when you get hungry there will be food from Deutschland Meats along with German beer.  The event is at the Lindstrom Community Center/city hall—free with food and drink to be purchased.

Is there anything worse than getting a letter in the mail telling you that your mortgage has been sold to another finance company.  We got a letteron Friday - so January 27, notifying us that our mortgage will now be handled by another company.  After doing a quick dive into the new company and reading reviews, we now have our mortgage with one of the lowest rated companies in the United States.  I called my existing (old one) company and asked if there was a way to avoid being partnered with the new one and they said “Sadly no”.  Something is wrong with this picture.  So I go from a company that we were comfortable with to one that I dread issues happening in the near future.  I really could use a Powerball win, if for only that reason.

With these frigid temperatures we are experiencing lately, all of your past donations you have made to the homeless have really helped them out.  We are still accepting warm winter items including coats, gloves, mittens and hats as well as the constant need for underwear and socks.  You can drop them off here at the Press and I will get them to the right place.  Thank you again.
