Lake ice isn't conducive, but we don't need ice to have fun here!
For the most part what was going to take place on the lake will now be taking place at Chuckie Lundquist Park in Chisago City.
Let’s get the bummer part out of the way - these events have been cancelled; The radar runs, the ice car races, the kids’ snowmobile races and the Lion’s fishing tournament. The pond hockey has moved to the ice rink at Chuckie Lundquist Park.
Now to the fun stuff, the event officially begins today (Thursday) with a Celebration of the Lakes photo contest. Your photos can be submitted to the Chisago Lakes Chamber online and deadline for submittal is Sunday at 4 p.m.
Friday there is a candlelight trail hike at Allemansratt Park in Lindstrom that starts at 5:30pm. There is an online puzzle contest (contact the chamber at 651-257-1177 for sign-up), kid’s movie night at Strom Hall in Ojiketa Regional Park in Chisago City at 6pm.
Saturday starts with a medallion hunt where clues are posted on the Chamber Facebook page. At Chuckie Lundquist Park there is a vintage snowmobile show, pond hockey as I mentioned, turkey bowling, free s’mores beginning at noon. There is a cribbage tournament at the Wildcat Fitness Center that starts at 4pm. The night caps off with a polka dance at Lindstrom City Hall/community center at 6 p.m.
Sunday has a pancake breakfast at Trinity, a Grumpy Old Man church service at CL Lutheran Church in Center City and a dodgeball tournament at noon at Chuckie Lundquist Park.
Oh and the snowmobile raffle drawing will now take place at the park as well.
