The City Council for North Branch and the Township Board for Lent will be acting on annextaion resolutions at their upcoming meetings.  The proposal to merge the City of Stacy with all of Lent;  motivated some property owners on the border of Lent and North Branch to petition to have their parcels brought into North Branch instead, and the involved parties started looking into this as an orderly annexation.

Meetings are in North Branch February 14 at 7 p.m. at city hall and in the Lent Township Hall, Feb. 21 at 7 p.m.

North Branch worked with the parcel owners’ requesting to join the city and developed a map (see graphic) of the area proposed to come into city boundaries.

The state Office of Boundary Adjustment determines the appropriateness of the request to alter the boundaries and will make a ruling approving or disallowing the action.  If you have reason to oppose the annexation application that the two governing bodies plan to vote on the meetings listed would be your final chance to have input.
