There isn’t much Patrick Rowe hasn’t done for the Chisago Lakes boys basketball team this year.
The 6’6” junior guard leads the Wildcats in scoring, assists, steals and blocks per game and is second in rebounds. He’s their primary ballhandler and their late game closer.
But he even surprised himself on Tuesday, February 7 with a full court buzzer beating three pointer to beat Becker 90-89 in overtime. The Bulldogs went to the line up by two points with 1.5 seconds left, but the Becker shooter missed both free throws.
The rebound bounced to Dan Wille, who quickly dished the ball to Rowe underneath his own hoop. Rowe instantly chucked the ball the length of the floor and the gym fell silent.
Once the ball got to the hoop, it rattled around the rim a couple of times before falling through, setting the home gym off in a frenzy after the unbelievable shot.
Rowe was mobbed by his teammates and the fans as the Wildcats celebrated their improbable victory.
Rowe had also tied the game at the end of regulation with a three pointer and scored 43 points on the night.
